Former Middlesbrough striker Ben Hutchison says there's no doubt Celtic teammate Aiden McGeady would star in the Premiership.

McGeady has been linked with Newcastle and Sunderland this week and Hutchison said: "The standard of football here is amazing. I know a lot of people sneer at Scottish football but having come from the English Premier League I can assure you it's no step down.

"Our squad is full of talented players, all of them gifted on the ball. But one player stands out - Aiden.

"He is fantastic and it's no surprise he's won so much so early in his career.

"A big part of playing football is playing it the right way. That's one of the reasons coming to Celtic has been such a good move for me.

"The team plays some great stuff and it all comes down from the top."
