Celtic's Caldwell: Scotland must stop Carew

Gary Caldwell has pinpointed John Carew as the man Scotland have to stop if they are take three points from next Saturday's crunch World Cup qualifier with Norway. The Celtic defender has consulted team-mate Shaun Maloney about his former Aston Villa striker partner and knows what to expect from Carew.

"He is physical and someone who likes to put himself about. When the ball comes into the box, he is dangerous," warned Caldwell.

"We will have to be alive to that and you have to use your brain in these situations rather than make it a physical battle.

"If I get in a right fight with him there will probably be just the one winner. As a centre-half, you need to leave your mark and try to be clever. I need to try and nip in front of him as opposed to being physical."
