Celtic youngster Rogic intent on becoming Australia regular

Tom Rogic is determined to become a regular starter in the Australian national team.

The 20-year old Celtic midfielder made his eighth international appearance in the weekend's 6-0 friendly loss to Brazil and is hoping he can turn his seven substitute outings into regular starts in time for next year's World Cup.

"Every player always wants to start and I'm no different in that respect," Rogic said.

"But being realistic as well it's been hard of late for both club and country so I know I need to push in both teams and hopefully really head in the right direction towards starting.

"Of course I want to make sure I'm back here (in Brazil) in nine months' time.

"I want to be part of this squad and I'm going to do everything I can in camp and at my club to continue getting called up.

"I want to keep representing my country and I certainly want to play a bigger role as well."
