Celtic young gun Watt: Taking on Juventus may outweigh Barcelona goal

Tony Watt believes it will mean more to him to play against some of his childhood heroes than it was to score against Barcelona.

The Celtic starlet grew up watching Tuesday night's Champions League opponents Juventus and is hoping he can again perform on the big stage if he gets the opportunity to do so.

"I know everything about Juve - they're just a massive club," he said.

"I know (Alessandro) del Piero's gone but I grew up watching guys like him, he's a hero of mine.

"I used to watch Champions League games when I was younger and he would just run the show. That was him - just a wizard on the pitch.

"(Andrea) Pirlo's there too and ran the Euros against England.

"Then there's (Gianluigi) Buffon who's unreal and another hero I grew up watching.

"He's been playing pretty much for my whole lifetime.

"It's crazy the players they've got. (Nicolas) Anelka signed in the window and he's world class. He was brilliant at Chelsea along with Didier Drogba, probably my favourite ever player.

"I watched Drogba and also Henrik Larsson most of all growing up.

"It would have been great if Drogba had signed for Juventus. I'd have loved to have played against him."

The 19-year old added: "The Barca game's behind me, I've only scored one goal for Celtic since I scored against them.

"So I need to prove to the fans I'm not a one-hit wonder. To me Barcelona's over, you can't think about that.

"At the end of my career I don't want people to say I was just guy who scored against Barcelona. I want them to talk about lots of other things.

"Things like how many league titles I've won, how many cups I've won, how many goals I've scored."
