Celtic's James Forrest has had an operation to repair a groin problem.
The 22-year old winger has been battling the injury for a large portion of the season and has now undergone surgery in a bid to get back to full fitness for the 2014/15 campaign.
Forrest was being considered for Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad for a friendly against Nigeria on May 28 but will now focus on his rehabilitation so he can be available for Celtic's Champions Leaguer qualifiers in July.
"Jamesie will not be going away with Scotland at the end of this month," Hoops boss Neil Lennon told the Evening Times.
"He has had surgery on his groin and needs a bit of time to recover."
