Celtic win not an easy one – Milan’s Allegri

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri felt his side’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Celtic on Tuesday night was certainly not an easy one.

The Rossoneri bounced back from the weekend’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Genoa in the Serie A, courtesy of goals from Kaka, Cristian Zapata and Mario Balotelli, to relegate the Hoops to the bottom of Group H which ended their time in Europe this season.

Allegri believes his Milan team had to work extremely hard for the three points as he looked forward to the December 11 final group fixture against Ajax in which the Italians need just a draw to secure their spot in the Round of 16.

"It wasn't an easy win. Celtic played well but we were able to nullify them. They created three or four chances but we defended well,” he said.

"It is not about a turning point for us. We played well tonight, and were technically very good, but we have played well in other matches.

"We have to make sure we have a good Champions League campaign and, of course, we have to get back to form domestically.

"But it was a good result and a great performance."
