Celtic want to deal in Newcastle's Forster on a permanent basis

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is hopeful that he can sign number one goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a permanent deal.

The 23-year old is back at Parkhead this season after impressing on loan from Newcastle United last term but Lennon is looking to sign him on a less temporary basis with discussions on the horizon.

"We are hoping to get his representatives in pretty soon to try to get a deal sorted out. We have given him a home for a year and a half and he has made the most of it," he said.

"He has improved greatly over this season off the back of last season where we felt he was very consistent.

"Good keepers are hard to find and we believe he has potential to go on and become a great keeper."
