Celtic striker Gary Hooper has been urged not to get down over his England U21 omission.
Former Parkhead hero Joe Miller insists that by the time Neil Lennon's side report for pre-season, the former Scunthorpe United striker should be back feeling fresher than ever.
Miller told the Scottish Sun: "I'm sure he'll be disappointed not to make the squad but I think he'll appreciate the rest.
"When you're with a club like Celtic, you can end up playing 60-odd games a season. It can be ridiculous but that's what playing at the top level is about.
"I think once the disappointment dies down, he'll realise the benefit of it for next season.
"It's great to have many boys in the international set-up as possible.
"But at the same time, he'll be delighted at the chance to relax."
