Celtic striker Griffiths buzzing ahead of Scotland friendly

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths was revelling after his recall to the Scotland squad on the weekend.

The 23-year old, who has played four times for his country, was called in by Gordon Strachan to replace Norwich City's Robert Snodgrass for Wednesday's friendly with Poland in Warsaw.

Griffiths netted a hat-trick in Celtic's 5-0 home win over Inverness on Saturday, making it four goals in four outings since his move from Wolves, and he was absolutely delighted to again be in the Scotland setup.

"I'm buzzing to be back in the Scotland squad," he said.

"Gordon Strachan said I wasn't in the original squad because I wasn't playing every week with Wolves and then he wanted to give me time to settle in here. I've settled pretty quickly."

Of the Griffiths call-up, Hoops boss Neil Lennon added: "I am delighted for Leigh in terms of Scotland. Against Inverness he could have scored even more."
