Prolific Celtic striker Scott McDonald is in doubt for the Socceroos upcoming qualifier. McDonald missed yesterday's game against cellar dwellers Hamilton Academicals, pulling out of the team with less than two hours prior to kick-off due to a viral infection.

McDonald is now very doubtful to get to Bahrain unless he wakes up in the next few hours feeling substantially better.

The striker, who has never scored for Australia at full international level, is desperate to open his account in the Bahrain game.
