Celtic to speak with Majstorovic regarding new deal

Celtic boss Neil Lennon says the club still needs to sit down and speak to central defender Daniel Majstorovic about a new deal.

The 34-year old Sweden international is out of contract in the summer and with Polish centre-back Jaroslaw Fojut heading to Parkhead at the end of the season, Majstorovic's position could be under threat.

But Lennon said there were still some things to discuss and made it clear that the former AEK Athens and FC Basel man could get the opportunity to stay put.

"We'll speak with Daniel when the time comes. I've been very happy with him and he was playing very well up until his injury," he said.

"Again he's a good influence around the dressing room. He's got a big couple of months coming up in terms of his international career and it's important he fully focuses on that.

"He's experienced enough to know he can come and talk with me at any time but for the time being there's no need to wag the bone.

"I don't think Jaroslaw will be coming in until the summer anyway. At the minute we've got a good quota of centre-halves but we won't be doing anything until the summer. I've not completely ruled it out but I think with what I've got it's not a necessity."
