Celtic skipper Stephen McManus admits they could lose teammate Aiden McGeady to a bigger competition.

The winger was linked with Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester United last week and McManus concedes: "Aiden knows how good a player he is and he certainly never gets down. He's a top player and he's going to be someone that I'd imagine will leave Celtic one day and go onto big things.

"Hopefully he stays and does it all at Celtic. He is a joy to work with and a joy to play with and he's a joy to have around the place."
