Celtic skipper Brown will not be overawed by Brazil

Celtic captain and Scotland midfielder Scott Brown insists he will not be starstruck when his nation meets Brazil this weekend.

The 25-year old and his Scotland teammates are currently preparing for Sunday’s encounter with the world’s number five team at London’s Emirates Stadium but Brown says that there is no point thinking about how good the Brazilians can be and would rather focus on his own team.

"When you think of Brazil you think of the frightening players they've had throughout the years,” he told SunSport.

"I've played against a few before like Ronaldinho and Kaka.

"Just to be out on the same pitch as these guys is amazing, because as a player you want to play against the world's best players.

"But you can't fear them - when I step out onto the park against anybody I want to win.
"It doesn't matter who I'm up against.

"It could be a Sunday League team or one of the best teams in the world like Brazil, I look at it in the same way.

"The way I see it is that I want to prove I'm just as good as these guys. It's about showing you deserve to be on the same park.”
