Celtic captain Scott Brown has been ordered to rest for a month after suffering a recurrence of his ongoing hip problem.
The Scotland midfielder had been battling the issue before proving himself fit for the final two games of the SPL season and Scottish Cup victory over Hibernian in May.
However, Brown pulled up poorly after the Hampden triumph and has been forced to withdraw from Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad for Friday's World Cup qualifier with Croatia.
He has been told to test for around a month in order to be fit for the new season which for Celtic kicks off with a Champions Leaguer qualifier on July 16 or 17.
