Scott Brown was disappointed with the result but suggested there was a lot of positivity in Scotland's 3-2 friendly loss to England.
The Celtic midfielder and his Scots teammates gave up the lead twice at Wembley on Wednesday night to fall to a late Rickie Lambert header but he feels it was an optimistic showing from Gordon Strachan's men against a more-fancied opponent.
"It was hard work. I think we played really well. And we were obviously devastated to come away with a loss but and the end of the day there are a lot of positives to take," Brown told ITV.
"Especially in the first half. I think we were the better team. We managed to keep the ball and we created chances as well.
"There's no such thing today as a friendly. I think they knew that and we knew that."
