Celtic skipper Brown to put Hibernian sentiment to the side

Scott Brown is well aware that former club Hibernian have waited a long time to lift the Scottish Cup.

The Celtic skipper is preparing for Sunday's decider at Hampden Park with the Scottish champions set to meet his old club who have not saluted in the competition since 1902 but have been runners-up recently in 2001 and 2012.

Brown, who has also experienced failure with Hibs in the 2004 League Cup, is aware it will be difficult for both sides but he is not about to let sentiment get in the way.

"It'll be hard for us but it'll be hard for them as well," he told the Celtic's official website.

"It's a huge occasion for them. It's been a long time since they won it but we want to get our hands on it as well.

"Every season it seemed to go on an extra year, they still wouldn't win the cup. Hopefully it goes on another extra year for them again.

"It's a huge game and a huge occasion. Everyone in the dressing room is looking forward to it and we've been looking sharp in training.

"But we know what they're all about and it's 90 minutes, 11 v 11, so it will be interesting. Everyone wants to win everything in our squad and the Scottish Cup is huge for us."
