Celtic skipper Brown aiming to lift trophy ASAP

Celtic skipper Brown aiming to lift trophy ASAP Celtic captain Scott Brown is looking to bounce back immediately from Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

The Hoops needed just a point to clinch the title on their Glasgow rivals' home turf but came up short as 'Gers managed to delay the imminent title party.

But with league games against St Johnstone and Kilmarnock coming up, Brown is hoping that the players can repay the faith of the fans by delivering the title as soon as possible.

"The fans were great from the first minute to the last at Ibrox. We know they're going to be chanting and cheering us on," he said.

"It kept us going and that showed in the 85th and 90th minute when we were still going forward to create chances.

"The supporters deserve the championship because we haven't won it for four years and it will mean as much to them as it does to us to win the league.

"Everyone was a bit low after the Old Firm game. But we now have two matches in which we can hopefully lift that trophy and we want to make that as sweet as possible."
