Celtic set to land Japanese star Koki Mizuno

Despite interest from Spain, Germany and France, it appears Celtic will secure the services of the JEF United star.

The Glasgow giants applied for a work permit for the 22 year old in December and should find out by Thursday whether they have been successful.

Mizuno has only 4 caps which he means he does not automatically qualify for a work permit. However, he is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the J-League and this could sway the Department of Employment into rubber-stamping Celtic's application.

The creative midfielder follows in the footsteps of international team-mate Shunsuke Nakamura and like Nakamura can operate in both a central and right sided role.
