Celtic have confirmed defender Mark Wilson will be sidelined for about three months after undergoing surgery on his knee.
The 27-year old right-back has had ongoing knee problems and it was getting too much for him this season, meaning an operation was a must to improve things.
Wilson had seen a specialist in London before having the procedure on Wednesday night and will now begin his rehabilitation which should take three months rather than the initial six months expected.
"Mark Wilson is set to be out for up to three months following surgery on his right knee. The defender underwent an arthroscopy last night (Wednesday)," read a statement on Celtic's official website.
"It had originally been feared that Wilson would miss the rest of the season, but it's hoped that he'll be able to make a return to action early next year."
