Celtic's tour of Australia hits a snag

Celtic's proposed tour of Australia for this July has run into some difficulties according to reports.

The famous Glaswegian club are scheduled to come down under to take on A-League club Perth Glory but it is now in doubt after Newcastle Jets pulled out of their part in the mooted tour.

Glory owner Tony Sage confirmed that the Jets had to withdraw and says he is hoping for another A-League club to step up to the plate.

"Unfortunately we heard some bad news yesterday," Sage said. "Nathan Tinkler of the Newcastle Jets pulled out for non-football reasons.

"Celtic will only come out if they've got two games. We won't be able to have two games in Perth, so we're seeking one of the other A-League clubs to play.

"Everything was going to be announced in the next 10 days but unfortunately Newcastle had to pull out."
