Celtic's Rogic hoping Melbourne Victory loan lands him WC spot

Tom Rogic is looking to perform at a consistent level during his loan at Melbourne Victory in order to force his way into the Australian national team setup.

The 21-year old Celtic midfielder has joined the A-League club until the end of May and after struggling for game time in Scotland, is targeting regular minutes so he can push for a spot in the Socceroos' World Cup squad for Brazil 2014.

"It's certainly a big factor. I don't think there's any Australian footballer right now that wouldn't want to be a part of that World Cup," Rogic told reporters at his Victory unveiling in Melbourne on Tuesday.

"It's in Brazil, for myself I'm 21, the thought of possibly being at a World Cup in Brazil is pretty special. Obviously I want to do everything I can to be a part of that."

Rogic, who has made just three Scottish Premier League appearances this term, is expected to make his Victory debut against Sydney FC at the Etihad Stadium this Sunday.
