Celtic's Nakamura can choose whether he stays or goes - Strachan

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan says midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura should get to decide his own future. The 30-year old Japanese star has been linked with a return to his original club Yokohama Marinos but will at least play out the season in Scotland.

After a brilliant hat trick in the Hoops 7-0 demolition of St Mirren on the weekend, Strachan said Nakamura should choose the way his career goes from here.

"It is only right that he decides," Strachan told BBC Radio Scotland.

"His goals and his movement are terrific, just wonderful to watch.

"The way he plays his game, and the way he trains, should be made into a documentary for every youngster who wants to be a top, top footballer," he added.

"Shunsuke has been respectful to the fans, his teammates, the coaching staff, the directors.

"If he goes, he goes with my best wishes and my thanks that I've been fortunate enough to be his manager."
