Celtic striker Scott McDonald has pulled out of the Socceroos' double-header in Australia beginning this weekend. The Aussies take on Holland in an international friendly in Sydney on Saturday before tackling Oman in an Asian Cup qualifier in Melbourne next Wednesday.

McDonald was selected in Pim Verbeek's squad but has had to withdraw after sustaining a back injury following a heavy challenge from Rangers captain David Weir in Sunday's Old Firm match which Celtic lost 2-1.
