Celtic’s McDonald keen to back up opening day win

Celtic’s Scott McDonald is keen to back up the club’s opening day Scottish Premier League result with a win over St Johnstone on Saturday.

Celtic’s Scott McDonald is keen to back up the club’s opening day Scottish Premier League result with a win over St Johnstone on Saturday.

The Hoops accounted for Aberdeen 3-1 at Pittodrie last week with McDonald amongst the goals but were then run over by Arsenal 2-0 on Tuesday night in Champions League qualifying.

The Australian international said the team was determined to put the Arsenal result behind them and focus solely on St Johnstone.

“Our SPL season begun well last week against Aberdeen but we let it slip with our performance against the Gunners in front of our home fans,” McDonald told tribalfootball.com.

“This Saturday we want to give the fans something to cheer about against St Johnstone.”
