Celtic’s McDonald excited about Motherwell return
Celtic striker Scott McDonald is looking forward to this weekend’s clash with former club Motherwell.
The Australian international kickstarted his career at Fir Park Stadium with the club (after stints with Southampton, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Wimbledon) and says it is always special to return to the place that give him his big break.
“It is no secret that Motherwell helped me launch my career in some ways,” McDonald told tribalfootball.com.
“The players and officials were great as well as the fans during my time there and I only have fond memories of playing at Fir Park. Unfortunately for ‘Well supporters, I will be trying to score against them when I am back there this weekend.”
The Hoops are currently two points clear on top of the Scottish Premier League table, ahead of Rangers (who have a game in hand) and Hibernian and all three clubs have vital matches this weekend.
Rangers are at home to eighth-placed St Johnstone whilst Hibs take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
