Celtic striker Scott McDonald will start in tonight's World Cup qualifier against Bahrain in Sydney. Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek looks set to stay with the 4-2-3-1 formation he used in the 0-0 draw with Qatar on the weekend meaning McDonald will be the lone striker at Stadium Australia.
Celtic's leading scorer will remain in Australia with the rest of the squad for next Wednesday's final qualifying match against Japan in Melbourne before heading back to Scotland.
He will then return down under for Celtic's pre-season friendly against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday July 12.
