Celtic striker Scott McDonald admits that he is a moaner on the field but it's all for a good reason. The Australian international was interviewed in Scotland's Sunday Herald and revealed how he often goes off at teammates during matches but said when he does it he is just trying to make everybody improve.
"No matter who I'm playing with - and people find this hard to believe - I am enjoying it out there. It's funny because you hear people saying ach, he always moans'. Trust me: I'm trying guys! I'm trying! At least I can have a laugh about it. Everyone does. They rib me in the changing rooms," he said.
"I'm never happy, simple as that. And I'm my own harshest critic as well, that's for sure. That won't change. From time to time even the manager has told me to lighten up on myself. He's right, sometimes you do have to lighten up. But he knows it's part of me as well and he knows that I shouldn't change too much because if you do then you lose the little edge you have."
