Celtic full-back Adam Matthews admits it would be a great thrill to play against fellow Welshman Gareth Bale.
Hoops ace Matthews has only ever taken on the Real Madrid winger at national team training and although he probably would not enjoy it, he says he would love to test himself against the former Tottenham star and his los Blancos teammates.
"I do keep in touch with Gareth, they've got a great team there, all hitting top form - they've got a great chance of winning," Matthews said.
"I speak to him now and again. I think he's enjoying it out there definitely. Who wouldn't?
"Would I fancy playing against him? I don't think I'd enjoy it! I've never played against him in a proper game, only in training - and that's hard enough.
"It would be great to play against Real Madrid, as tough a game as there is.
"You always want to play against the best players in the world and right now Gareth is right up there.
"If I do get the chance to play against him I'll do my best. And maybe hope he's on the opposite wing!"
