Celtic's Lustig may go for hip operation

Celtic defender Mikael Lustig could be in doubt for his sides foray into the Champions League because of potential hip surgery.

The Sweden international did not start his country's recent Euro2012 group stage loss to England because of the ongoing problem and has revealed that he may have to have an operation when his national team duties are finished which could force him out of Champions League qualifiers later this summer.

"I feel numb. I've had problems with my hip for a while. I'll see if I need an operation after the European Championships," the full-back said.

"I didn't start against England because I was injured and the manager didn't want to take any chances with me."
