Celtic’s Lennon wants answers from Lierse regarding Watt

Celtic manager Neil Lennon reportedly wants to find out why youngster Tony Watt and Belgian club Lierse SK have not been able to see eye-to-eye since he joined them on loan.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon reportedly wants to find out why youngster Tony Watt and Belgian club Lierse SK have not been able to see eye-to-eye since he joined them on loan.

The 20-year old striker joined Lierse on a season-long loan in August last year and despite scoring nine goals in 17 outings, has been ordered to train with the club’s ‘B’ team.

Watt has often had spats with manager Stanley Menzo and it is believed that this latest demotion comes after the Scotland U21 international told Belgian press that he is blamed by the boss whenever the side loses.

The Scotsman is reporting that Lennon is seeking answers as to why Menzo and Watt have clashed so often and is also hoping he can clear up rumours that the Hoops youngster was slapped in the face by the former Holland international before a match.

Watt is due back at Celtic Park from his Lierse loan in May when his Belgian Pro League duties are complete.
