Celtic's Lennon on trail of Stoke's Faye

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is hoping to bring in Stoke City defender Abdoulaye Faye before the transfer window closed.

The Hoops boss is in desperate need of some central defensive cover for the injured Daniel Majstorovic and the 32-year old Senegalese centre-half.

Reports suggest that Potters boss Tony Pulis will allow Faye to go on loan for the rest of the season as he has played just two Premier League matches since early November.

Faye did play in the FA Cup win over Wolves on the weekend but Pulis generally prefers Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth as the central defensive pairing at the Britannia Stadium.
