Celtic's Lennon praises Balde for match-winning Liverpool effort

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was full of praise for Amido Balde following his side's friendly win over Liverpool on the weekend.

The 22-year old striker, who joined the Hoops from VitoriaGuimaraes earlier this summer, netted the only goal in the 12th minute of the Hoops' 1-0 win in Ireland and his performance was not lost on Lennon.

"Amido was immense. He gave Kolo Toure and Andre Wisdom all sorts of problems," he said.

"He was aggressive, strong, quick and took his goal great and that gave us real platform."

Balde will now press for Celtic selection after only making a second-half cameo in a recent Champions League qualifying win over Cliftonville so far this season.
