Celtic's Lennon: Hooper is a 'master' and Stokes had his best game for the club

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has labelled Gary Hooper as a 'master' after his double guided the team to a 3-0 win over Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final on Sunday.

Hooper took his season tally to 31 goals with a first-half brace at Hampden and was praised by his boss who also felt the Englishman's strike partner Anthony Stokes was at his best for the Glasgow giants.

"Hooper's a master - absolute master," said Lennon.

"But his partner in crime, Stokes, had probably his best game in a Celtic shirt.

"I had a gut feeling about Stokesy all week, but I didn't realise he was going to play as well as that.

"He showed why he's getting another contract because he's a good player. He's looked better in his last few matches, more consistent and stronger. He looks like he's found a yard of pace.

"And that's all down to the time he had off working really hard during his rehab.

"It was a great all-round team performance."
