Celtic manager Neil Lennon has implored Fraser Forster to put his England hopes to the side as the Scottish giants prepare to take on Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The 25-year old goalkeeper's chances to make his Three Lions bow have recently been enhanced by Manchester City's dumping of England number one Joe Hart but Lennon feels he has more to worry about when the Bhoys visit the Dutch powerhouse for a must-win fixture.
"Three years ago there is no way you would have envisaged Fraser being in the England squad,'" said Lennon.
"But he has just improved year in and year out. He will be a crucial player for us on Wednesday night.
"I think he deserves the opportunity and regardless of Joe's (Hart) form - whether he was playing brilliantly or not - I think Roy has intimated that Fraser will get an opportunity anyway.
"I don't want to put extra pressure on Fraser by saying, 'you have to play well'.
"On Wednesday night against Ajax I need him at his best and he seems to thrive in this environment."
