Celtic's Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club is in pursuit of Rosenborg defender Mikael Lustig.
The Swedish international has been linked with the Hoops for the past few weeks and Lennon says that the 24-year old, who comes out of contract with his Norwegian club very soon, is certainly a player the Glasgow giants are looking at closely.
"Lustig's a player we went to watch because we've had our eye on him," he said.
"He's been on the radar for the last 18 months. Whether a deal gets done I don't know - we are in talks but nothing has been agreed yet.
"We'd bring him here in January if we could."
Lennon added: "We do like his make up. He's a good defender, and a good footballer.
"He's played most of Sweden's games in their qualification group, and he's been a regular with Rosenborg for a number of years.
"He's available on a Bosman and I like his attributes but whether we get a deal done is another thing. He can play both positions but he's predominantly a right-back."
