Celtic's Ledley vows to move on after Juventus benching

Joe Ledley admits he was gutted to see no action in Celtic's Champions League loss to Juventus.

The Welsh midfielder was left out of Neil Lennon's starting eleven for the 3-0 Round of 16 first leg home defeat on Tuesday night but responded by skippering the Hoops side in the weekend's 6-2 triumph over Dundee United and is now looking to kick on after the midweek disappointment.

"I was really disappointed to miss out against Juventus as it would have been one of the biggest games of my career. But it's down to the gaffer what team he picks - but obviously I was disappointed," he said.

"He didn't say anything to me because he does not name the team until just before kick-off.

"I have to say I thought the boys played pretty well and the 3-0 scoreline was a false one.

"To lead the team out against Dundee United helped me get over the disappointment a bit.

"I want to play every game and while I was disappointed not to play against Juve you have got to get on with things.

"It was good to be back playing once again. I was glad to get out there and perform, and that's all I can do.

"It is down to the gaffer after that."
