Celtic's Ki out of hospital but asked to play by South Korea

Scottish club Celtic and the South Korea national team look to be on a collision course regarding midfielder Ki Sung-yeung.

The 22-year old this week admitted himself to hospital after travelling to Seoul after missing Celtic's last two matches with a virus.

Tests have revealed nothing serious is the matter but the South Korean team want him to play in the upcoming World Cup qualifying double header against UAE (in Dubai on Friday) and Lebanon (in Beirut on Tuesday) which is sure to irk the Glasgow giants.

It appears as though Taeguk Warriors boss Cho Kwang-rae wants Ki to join the squad but the Hoops cannot block him from playing which could cause some tension between club and country if he is made to play just days after being in hospital.
