Celtic's Ki having Swansea medical

Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-yueng is set to undergo a medical with Swansea City.

The 23-year old South Korean international has been linked with the Swans all week and after the two clubs came to an agreement over a £6million transfer fee, his move is set to be finalised before the weekend.

Ki is excited about making the move to the Premier League after rising to prominence in Glasgow with the reigning Scottish champions.

"It's an honour to play in such a world class league that I've only watched on television," Ki told reporters according to Yonhap.

"The key is to make adjustments to my new environment as quickly as I can. If I can just play my game, I think I will have a good career there.

"If I develop into a better player in Premier League, then I think it will also help Korean football. I know expectations will be high. I will just go out there and try to do my best."

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has been keen to replace the departed Joe Allen, who left the Liberty Stadium for Liverpool recently, and it is believed that Ki will soon be making the move to south Wales to become the Dane's seventh summer signing.
