Celtic's Izaguirre rubbishes Honduras politics claims

Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre has distanced himself from claims that he is set to leave football for a career in politics.

Reports late last week suggested that the Honduras international could be looking to move into politics by becoming a deputy for the National Party of Honduras but he has dismissed those claims, revealing a picture was used of him merely as a show of support.

"The party only asked me for a picture to support them," he said.

"I live for football. My only interest is in getting ready for the new season with Celtic.

"I look at this as bad news for me and my family because I know that in my life I want to be political (but not yet)."
