Celtic's Izaguirre insists Honduras players are committed

Celtic star Emilio Izaguirre has made it vehemently clear that European-based players in the Honduras national team do care about the World Cup.

It has been suggested that those Hondurans playing away from the domestic league have lost their love for Los Catrachos.

However, Hoops full-back Izaguirre has pointed out that Hondurans in Europe have often travelled a long way to join the squad in the past and their preparations for the 2014 tournament in Brazil are no different.

"This is the pinnacle of my career. Some people think that the European-based Honduras players no longer care," Izaguirre said.

"But remember, sometimes we have to travel for 14 or 15 hours and play two days later, so that demonstrates our commitment to our country. We are highly motivated to make an impact at the World Cup."

Joining Izaguirre in Luis Fernando Suarez's Honduras squad is fellow Europe-based players Maynor Figueroa (Hull City), Roger Espinoza and Juan Carlos Garcia (both Wigan Athletic), Wilson Palacios (Stoke City) and Andy Najar (Anderlecht).
