Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has breached a disciplinary rule according to the Scottish Football Association.
The 23-year old has been issued with a notice of complaint by the SFA for singing in a derogatory manner towards financially embattled Heart of Midlothian on the weekend.
Mobile phone footage shows former Hibernian loanee Griffiths a - lifelong fan of the Edinburgh club - singing 'Hearts are going bust' in a pub after the Hibees lost 2-0 to arch rivals the Jambos at Tynecastle.
Former Wolves striker Griffiths has been 'accused of breaching Disciplinary Rule 86 - which demands players, staff or officials act in the best interests of the game - by singing in public about Heart of Midlothian FC in administration'.
Celtic have admitted to Griffiths' poor behaviour but say they will defend the charges which will be heard at a principal hearing on Thursday, April 24.
"Following the incident, the player publicly apologised for his actions. Celtic have fined the player and the club has also apologised to Hearts, an apology which they have accepted," said a Celtic spokesman.
"Therefore, the club feels there is no need for any further action, and this is something which we will defend."
