Celtic defender Cha Du-ri will miss about a month of action with an ankle injury.

The South Korea international sustained the injury on his return to Parkhead after serving his nation at the Asian Cup in Qatar in January and it was initially feared he would out for the remainder of the season.

But after further assessment, the right-back will only be sidelined for around four weeks according to a statement on Celtic's official website.

"The defender picked up an ankle injury at training on his return from the Asia Cup. But after seeking further opinion in relation to Cha's injury, the club is pleased to report he will be out of action for no more than up to one month," the statement read.
