Celtic have received a boost with news that captain Scott Brown could be back in action for the Old Firm derby with rivals Rangers.
The Hoops host the reigning champions on December 28 and could have their skipper back in the fold as he is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.
Celtic medical staff expected Brown to be sidelined for about 10 weeks after having surgery on the problem area but news is that he could be set for reserves action early next month before working his way to full fitness for the 'Gers meeting between Christmas and New Years Eve.
Brown has not played since the 4-2 loss to Rangers at Ibrox on September 18.
