Celtic midfielder Nir Biton has revealed that he almost joined Manchester City two years ago.
The 22-year old Israel international trialled with City when Roberto Mancini was at the helm at Eastlands put was unable to secure a work permit which denied him a transfer from FC Ashdod.
However, Biton was signed by Celtic in August 2013 and admits he is loving his time with the Glasgow giants even after the City disappointment.
"I think they liked me at Manchester City but it's in the past and it didn't happen," he told the Daily Record.
He added: "I have come to a club that is not much smaller than Manchester City and I can't imagine being anywhere else.
"Now I am a Celtic player and want to improve myself at this big club and for the coach who believes in me.
"Maybe the perfect scenario is that I can meet Mancini again next season and Celtic play Galatasaray. I hope that happens."
