Celtic manager Neil Lennon is believed to be considering a move for FC Ashdod midfielder Nir Biton.
The 21-year old Israel international has emerged as a target for the Hoops boss who is still looking for a defensive midfield replacement for Victor Wanyama who left for Southampton earlier this summer.
The Daily Record suggests that Biton, who trialled with Manchester City on two occasions in 2012, wants to test himself away from his homeland and is keen on a move to a big club in Europe.
Biton, who has spent his entire career in his hometown of Ashdod, would cost the Hoops around £700,000.
