Celtic the perfect club for Rogic - Millwall's McDonald

Celtic great Scott McDonald is of the belief that the Glasgow club is the perfect place for Tom Rogic to become a top quality player.

The 30-year old Millwall striker scored 65 goals for the Bhoys between 2007 and 2010 so is well-versed to comment on just what the green and white hoops can do for the development of a player.

McDonald feels that Parkhead is a great place for the 20-year old attacking midfielder to display the talents that could get him to the 2014 World Cup with Australia and beyond at both club and international level.

"I think it is the perfect club for him, the experience of playing in the Champions League as well, there's nothing better and being part of that," McDonald told au.fourfourtwo.com.au.

"But it's like every player with their development, if he goes another year without playing any football there then, he's like any footballer, he wants to play football.

"To develop there's nothing better than actually playing games week-in week-out as a young person. You learn that as you get older and it helps you grow up as a person and as a man as well."

McDonald, who won one Scottish Premier League title and one Scottish League Cup with Celtic, added of Rogic's limited opportunities this season.

"There's some good players there like Kris Commons and Joe Ledley and Scott Brown, and (Beram) Kayal, it's tough for him. But that's up to the individual then," he said.
