Bertie Auld has told Celtic to concentrate on their youth policy - because some of their foreign imports are not good enough. The former Hibernian and Partick Thistle manager said: "I feel as if the foreigners shouldn't be asked in to Celtic Park unless they have what we require.
"That, first and foremost, is ability and entertainment - and we are lacking in both these qualities.
"What we were always known for was that the reserve team today is the first team tomorrow, and the supporters would encourage and support that.
"I think their heads are down at the moment because of the level we are playing at and the quality that is there.
"I think it is a problem, not just for Celtic, but for Scottish football.
"We are bringing foreigners here that don't have the ability to play at this level.
"We don't have the money to compete with teams in England so it's important that we go into youth development in depth."
