Scott Brown is the new Celtic captain after Stephen McManus moved on loan to Middlesbrough during the transfer window. The Scotland midfielder returned from injury as a substitute against Kilmarnock on Tuesday night and Hoops boss Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "Scott Brown is at the stage in his career where the responsibility will be good for him.

"I understand Scott's personality. He wants to win and he wants to be a winner out on the field. When Scott's fit and available and in the team, then he will lead the team out with the armband on."
