Celtic have been taking a close look at Honduran World Cup defender Osman Chavez.
The Daily Record says Celtic boss Tony Mowbray invited the 25-year-old centre-half to Scotland last week and is now weighing up whether or not to make an offer for a player who had been attracting interest from Premiership clubs Spurs and Blackburn.
Last night sources inside Parkhead insisted no decision has yet been made by the manager on Chavez who will represent his country at next summer's big event in South Africa. It is not even clear how much cash it would take to tempt his current club, Platense, into doing a deal or what kind of financial package would be needed to convince the player to set up home in Scotland.
