The Express reports that Sunderland are planning a £5million summer move for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.

The 23-year old Israeli international has been one of Celtic's top performers this season, helping the Glasgow giants to a fourth-straight Scottish title, which has attracted the interest of the Black Cats.

The report quoted a Sunderland insider as saying: "Nir Bitton's outstanding display against Inter Milan in the Europa League in February really brought him to our attention and we have been impressed with his consistently strong performances in the Scottish Premiership."

Bitton arrived at Parkhead on a four-year deal in the summer of 2013, signing for £700,000 from Israeli Premier League club FC Ashdod.
